  1. Are there scholarships available?
    We always believe in making quality education attainable to deserving students irrespective of race, religion or social background.   2. Is there Annual Fee discount available in IIS?
    A discount of five percent (5%) is applicable for advance payment of the full amount of the total annual tuition fee. This discount is only applicable to students enrolled for the entire academic year.

  3. Does IIS accept admissions part way through the year?
    As an international school, we are quite used to students joining part way through the year. We work hard to ensure a smooth transition so that students may settle well and then flourish in all respects.

  4. How long will it take for the school to review our application(s)?
    Once all documents and fees have been submitted, and the children have sat for a basic academic placement screen, you will hear from us within three (3) working days.

  5. Is there an applications deadline?
    We do not have an application deadline, per se. However, we are mindful that some grades may be close to capacity. In the case of having more applicants than spaces available, we will then look at the date on which the application form was submitted and the application fee paid so as to determine priority.

  6. My kids are not proficient in English, can they still enrol?
    The school will offer a special English training programme to those potential students who have low proficiency in English. Students under this programme undertake a higher proportion of rigourous English classes and are introduced to the normal stream only after passing the test. Teaching staff that are involved in this programme are professionals and will strive to ensure each student in IIS is capable of communicating in English fluently.

  8. When can we arrange to see the school?
    Please contact the Admissions Registrar, by telephone or by email to make an appointment. On arrival, you will be met by the Admissions Registrar, who will introduce you to the school.

  9. Where is Imperial International School located?
    IIS is situated in the growing township of Kledang in Menglembu, Ipoh. The school is surrounded by lush greenery; a vibrant educational environment with boarding facilities, bordering Kledang Hill, and conducive for optimal experiential learning. For direction click HERE.

  10. Are there any Founding Fees available in IIS?
    Founding fees are only applicable to the first 400 students who enrol in the school.

  11. Do parents/guardians get access to principal and teachers?
    Parents and guardians will have easy access to meet the teachers and school management. They will be available regularly to meet parents face-to-face via appointment, or can be contacted via email.

  12. Does the school offer learning support and facilities for children with special needs?
    Applications for students who require special assistance are considered on a case by case basis. Our team of Learning Support Specialists and Assistants provide assistance and guidance to students who find particular aspects of the curriculum challenging.

  13. How does the school discipline children who have misbehaved?
    All students are supported to behave positively. On occasions, school rules may be broken. Minor infringements of the rules will be dealt with by the Class Teacher or Year Leader. In the event of more serious issues, one of the school’s Leadership Teams will be involved and parents will be contacted so that we can work together to resolve any problems.

  14. How do you ensure my child settles in quickly to their new school?
    We have induction sessions prior to their first day to familiarise them with the school. On their first day of school, students will have a welcome session with their teacher, and settle in to their new class. Our teachers and assistant teachers also know all of our students very well, and their class or form tutor will monitor our students closely to ensure they feel supported and are enjoying their experience. We also have school counsellors in school, whom all students are very welcome to speak to, should they feel the need.

  15. Is school lunch provided?
    Absolutely. The school has a lovely cafeteria. A lunch menu and snacks are available for the students. Students can purchase food and drinks on the spot.

  16. What are the class sizes?
    We limit the size of class to a maximum of 25 to ensure a healthy and balanced teacher-student ratio.

  17. What are the security measures taken at the school?
    At IIS, your child’s security is of utmost priority. We have 24-hour security guards and CCTV surveillance. Access to the school is strictly limited to authorised personnel and guests.

  18. What curriculum do you teach?
    The Imperial curriculum is based on the prestigious International Primary Curriculum (IPC) infused with the Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) leading to IGCSE examinations and the Cambridge A-Levels.

  19. What Examination does Imperial International School sit for?

  20. What facilities will you have?
    We offer:
    Art Room, Multi-purpose Hall, Basketball Courts, Auditorium, Fully-Networked Broadband Campus, Science Laboratories, Medical Bay, Library, 4D Immersive Learning Facilities, Computer Laboratories, Music Room, Badminton Court, Cafeteria and Little Chefs Laboratories.*

    * There will be other future expansions.

  21. What happens if my child becomes ill?
    In the first instance your child will be sent to the Medical Bay and will be taken to see a doctor if needed. The parent will be informed immediately.

  22. What uniforms are required?
    The school sets a high standard for student presentation and requires students to be dressed in their school uniform when they attend. Students are required to wear uniforms according to the dress code of the school. The uniforms are available for purchase at the school bookstore.

  23. Whom do we contact at school if we have questions/concerns?
    The first point of contact should always be your child’s teacher, although you may prefer to contact the school office staff if the matter is administrative in nature. You can also contact the School Leadership Team via email or seek an appointment.

  24. What are the Co-Curricular activities offered by the school?
    There is a full and varied CCA programme offered which will vary according to demand. Activities will normally be held on Mondays and Thursdays for approximately 1 hour after school. Activities will be offered each term. Physical education is provided in our curriculum and students will also have the opportunity to sign up for sports activities after school (some of these may be organised by third party providers).

  25. Is Imperial International School accredited?
    The school is registered with the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MoE) and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

  26. Will my child have difficulty making the transition from another school system or, indeed, back into a local system?
    Many students entering a new school may require a period of adjustment. This is particularly so for students who come from schools where the style of learning is markedly different. However, with timely support and intervention, these students adapt well and become happy learners. Our curriculum and CAIE examinations are recognised worldwide. As such, moving to another school system should not be an issue though some initial adaptation needs should be anticipated and, if necessary, duly addressed.

  27. Do you provide transportation for students?
    Our school does not provide transportation service. However, the school will assist parents to connect with transport providers in their respective zone. Please contact the Admissions Registrar for further details.
